In an effort to ignite their struggling offense, the Texas Rangers have announced several roster moves, according to General Manager Chris Young. The defending World Series champions are determined to turn their fortunes around and get their offense firing on all cylinders.

Expressing a sense of urgency, Young stated, "We can't sit back and wait, hope that it comes together. It's time for us to get going, it's time for us offensively to perform like the team that we know we can be. I have great confidence in all of these players, but for a number of reasons, we just haven't performed to the level that we were expecting."

One of the changes includes the promotion of outfielder Derek Hill from Triple-A Round Rock. Hill had a brief stint with the Rangers earlier in the season, batting .222 in five games played between May 21 and June 2. Additionally, infielder Ezequiel Duran has been optioned to Round Rock, having recorded a .256 batting average with two home runs and 13 RBIs in 58 games.

Furthermore, Texas activated infielder Justin Foscue from the injured list, but he was subsequently optioned to Round Rock. The Rangers also made adjustments to their pitching staff, transferring right-hander Cole Winn from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list due to a right shoulder sprain. In addition, right-hander Yerry Rodríguez has been designated for assignment.

The Rangers find themselves currently five games below .500 with a record of 37-42, ranking third in the AL West and 6½ games behind the division-leading Seattle Mariners. Their offensive struggles have been evident, as they have scored a mere four runs in their last two games against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Manager Bruce Bochy expressed the need for change, stating, "Sometimes you've got to try to shake things up, we're looking for a spark." With these roster moves, the Texas Rangers hope to turn the tide and revitalize their offense, aiming to recapture their championship form.

The team will be closely watched as these adjustments take effect, hoping to see immediate results and an offensive surge. Time will tell if these changes prove successful in rejuvenating the Texas Rangers' bid for another World Series title.
