In a bizarre incident, a 26-year-old Texas man named Wicliff Yves Fleurizard was apprehended on March 17 after allegedly being a stowaway on a Delta Air Lines flight departing from Salt Lake City. According to reports, Fleurizard aroused suspicion by exhibiting unusual behavior and spending an extended period of time in the aircraft's restroom. The flight attendant became aware of his presence when he claimed a seat that was already occupied, prompting the plane to return to the gate.

Now, new footage released by ABC News has shed light on how Fleurizard managed to board the flight undetected. Apparently, he surreptitiously photographed the tickets of other passengers without their knowledge, enabling him to capture their QR codes. Using one of these images on his phone, Fleurizard successfully scanned the QR code and gained access to the plane.

Prosecutors have alleged that Fleurizard not only took pictures of paper tickets but also photographed the phones of fellow passengers. Shockingly, one of the individuals he targeted was a minor female, causing complications during the boarding process as the system indicated that she had already boarded.

Fleurizard has claimed that he made a mistake and simply wanted to return home promptly after failing to secure an alternative flight with a different airline. However, he now finds himself facing felony charges related to being a stowaway.

The release of the footage has raised another pressing question: how did Fleurizard manage to navigate through TSA security? While it is unclear how he bypassed the security screening with only a valid Florida ID, passengers typically need to present both an ID and their boarding pass. It is possible that Fleurizard used the same method of photographing someone else's boarding pass to gain access to the TSA line without arousing suspicion.

The incident involving Fleurizard has raised concerns about the vulnerabilities within the airline industry's security measures. With more attention being drawn to the potential misuse of boarding passes and the need for enhanced passenger verification processes, authorities will undoubtedly review and tighten security protocols.

As the investigation into this extraordinary case continues, passengers are reminded to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity or individuals to airline staff or authorities.
