### Longhorns' QB Quinn Ewers Listed as Probable After Mild Ankle Sprain
In a recent injury update, it has been confirmed that Texas Longhorns' redshirt junior starting quarterback Quinn Ewers is listed as probable for the upcoming game against Texas A&M. Ewers sustained a mild ankle sprain during the team's 31-14 victory over the Wildcats last weekend.
Head coach Steve Sarkisian was unable to provide significant updates on Ewers during his Monday press conference since the team had scheduled practice for the afternoon rather than the morning. The injury occurred in the second quarter of the game against Kentucky, following a hip-drop tackle when Ewers scrambled. After junior Jaydon Blue’s five-yard touchdown run, Ewers' ankle began to tighten, necessitating medical attention.
Ewers downplayed the injury in his post-game comments, describing it as "a little bit tender." A subsequent MRI on Sunday showed no structural damage, which was confirmed by Anwar Richardson of Orangebloods. Therefore, the injury is not expected to prevent Ewers from participating in the Lone Star Showdown on Saturday against Texas A&M in College Station.
In the game against Kentucky, Ewers completed 20 out of 31 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns. His participation in the second half was limited, as he attempted only five passes, completing three for 20 yards. Notably, Ewers was recognized on Senior Day before the game, indicating his intent to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft at the season's end.
The Longhorns will be without four other players who are sidelined with season-ending injuries. Meanwhile, Texas A&M has listed five players as questionable on their Wednesday injury report, adding an additional layer of uncertainty to the highly anticipated showdown.
