In a devastating incident, 19-year-old actor Mamie Laverock, known for her role as Rosaleen Sullivan in the popular Hallmark Channel series "When Calls the Heart," is battling for her life after falling five stories from a balcony walkway. According to a GoFundMe page organized by her family, Laverock sustained life-threatening injuries and is currently on life support.
The tragic incident occurred after Laverock had spent two weeks in intensive treatment in the hospital due to a medical emergency. The young actor was reportedly escorted out of the secure unit of the hospital and unfortunately fell from the balcony walkway. Her parents, Rob and Nicole Compton, who set up the fundraiser page, expressed their devastation and shock in light of this intensely difficult time for their family.
Details surrounding the medical emergency that initially led to Laverock's hospitalization remain unclear. However, the GoFundMe campaign explains that her mother, Nicole, traveled to Winnipeg, Canada, on May 11 to assist Laverock. She was able to save her daughter's life, and Laverock was subsequently transferred to a hospital in Vancouver.
At the time of her transfer, Laverock's parents mentioned that her recovery was uncertain but stated that she was alive and showing signs of improvement. However, on May 26, Laverock tragically fell off a balcony, exacerbating her already critical condition.
A GoFundMe campaign was set up to aid in Laverock's recovery, and as of now, it has garnered more than $14,500 in donations. Laverock's co-stars from "When Calls the Heart" have expressed their support on social media, spreading awareness of the fundraiser and encouraging others to contribute if they are able to.
Mamie Laverock appeared in nine episodes of "When Calls the Heart" between 2014 and 2023, including the show's premiere episode. Aside from her work on the series, her acting credits also include appearances in films such as "This Means War," "A Series of Unfortunate Events," and "The Hollow Child."
