In a surprising twist, pop star Taylor Swift took to social media on Thursday to troll her longtime friend, actor Ryan Reynolds, while also showering praise on Hugh Jackman for his highly anticipated film, Deadpool & Wolverine. Swift's Instagram Stories post had fans buzzing with excitement and curiosity.
In her heartfelt message, Swift expressed her admiration for Jackman's dedication to the film, stating, "Over the past few years, I have watched one of my best friends on this planet pour every bit of his heart, soul, sweat, and magic into this film. He's created the best work of his life, and this film feels like an actual joy portal, a wild escape from reality, and an abs sandwich. I don't know how he did it."
Accompanying her words was a photo of Swift standing alongside Jackman, Reynolds, Reynolds' wife Blake Lively, and director Shawn Levy. Swift humorously remarked, "These other randoms crashed the photo and we were too polite to ask them to leave," before urging her fans to buy tickets for the "unspeakably awesome" film.
However, Swift couldn't resist teasing Reynolds, as she ended her praise by mentioning Jackman's name, stating, "But that's just Hugh for you!" She playfully acknowledged Reynolds as the "sperm donor" of her godchildren, referencing his iconic character, Wade Wilson (Deadpool).
Reynolds took the joke in stride, reposting Swift's post on his own Instagram Stories, suggesting that it might have "killed" Jackman. Jackman, on the other hand, simply wrote, "I ❤️ TS," demonstrating his appreciation for Swift's support.
The friendship between Swift, Lively, and Reynolds has spanned years, with the trio frequently seen together in public. Levy, who has also formed a bond with Swift, recently made a cameo appearance in her All Too Well short film. Furthermore, the group, joined by Jackman, were spotted attending a Kansas City Chiefs game in October to support Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who is a tight end for the NFL team.
Speculation arose among fans regarding Swift's involvement in Deadpool & Wolverine, but sources confirmed exclusively to Entertainment Weekly in June that Swift does not have a role in the film. However, with Reynolds and Levy playing coy, moviegoers can expect plenty of surprises upon the film's release.
Deadpool & Wolverine is set to hit theaters this Friday, July 26, promising an exciting and entertaining experience for fans of the Marvel universe and its beloved characters.
