In a recent Instagram video post, Tan France, co-host and fashion expert on the popular Netflix series "Queer Eye," addressed the allegations that he pushed for the hiring of his friend, Jeremiah Brent, as a replacement for former cast member and interior design expert, Bobby Berk. The claims emerged from a Rolling Stone article, which stated that France and co-host Antoni Porowski "campaigned" for Berk to be replaced.

France firmly denied the allegations, stating that the decision to hire Brent was made independently by Netflix and the production companies through a thorough casting process. He emphasized that he did not push his friend into the role or contribute to Berk's departure from the show. France expressed his support for Brent and believes he will be an excellent addition to the cast for Season 9.

The "Queer Eye" co-host then expressed his concern about the origins of the allegations, tracing them back to a comment on a gossip blog that gained traction and was subsequently shared widely. France encouraged skeptics to dig deeper and find the truth behind the claims.

In November 2023, Berk announced his departure from the series, stating that Season 8 would be his final season on "Queer Eye." While his initial statement did not explicitly mention being fired, France characterized Berk's departure as such in his Instagram post.

Following France's video, Berk posted a meme on his social media, featuring former First Lady Michelle Obama's quote, "When they go low we go high!" Variety reached out to representatives for both France and Berk for comment. Berk declined to comment, while France's publicist did not immediately respond to the request.

As the controversy surrounding the hiring of Jeremiah Brent continues, fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming Season 9 of "Queer Eye," hoping to witness his talents and the transformative makeovers the show is known for.
