Star Trek Actor Kenneth Mitchell Dies at 49 After ALS Battle

Kenneth Mitchell, the talented actor recognized for his multiple roles in Star Trek: Discovery, Jericho, and Captain Marvel, has passed away at the age of 49 due to complications from ALS. For over five years, Mitchell courageously faced the challenges posed by ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. In a statement shared on Instagram, his family highlighted Mitchell's resilience and positive outlook, emphasizing his belief that each day is a gift and no one ever walks alone.
Diagnosed with ALS in 2020, Mitchell shared his disbelief and shock upon receiving the news, likening the experience to a scene from a movie. Despite his health struggles, Mitchell continued to bring his talent to screens, portraying various characters in Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Lower Decks, including the innovative hoverchair-using Aurellio in the series' third season.
Apart from his contributions to the Star Trek franchise, Mitchell's impactful presence was felt in his role as Eric Green in Jericho and as Joseph Danvers in Captain Marvel. His entertainment career also included appearances in acclaimed shows like The Astronaut Wives Club and Switched at Birth, along with guest spots in Code Black, CSI: Cyber, and NCIS.
