Irish singer Sinéad O'Connor's cause of death has finally been revealed, a year after her passing. According to recent reports by The New York Times and Irish Independent, her death certificate states that she died from "exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchial asthma together with low-grade lower respiratory-tract infection."

The news was made public with the registration of her death certificate last week, which was submitted by her first husband, John Reynolds. Reynolds, who also produced several of O'Connor's albums, including her final completed LP "I'm Not Bossy, I'm the Boss," shared this crucial information with authorities.

Previously, in January, the medical examiner's office in London had declared O'Connor's death as natural causes. They stated, "The coroner has therefore ceased their involvement in her death," leaving no further comments regarding the matter. The 56-year-old Grammy winner was found unresponsive in her London home by the police on July 26, 2023, and she was pronounced dead upon their arrival. Her death was determined to be non-suspicious.

This tragic news followed a personal loss experienced by O'Connor just a year before her passing. The renowned musician had shared that her 17-year-old son, Shane, had tragically passed away after being reported missing. His body was later discovered in the eastern coastal town of Bray, Ireland. O'Connor took to Twitter to express her profound grief, stating, "the very light of my life, decided to end his earthly struggle today and is now with God. May he rest in peace and may no one follow his example. My baby, I love you so much. Please be at peace."

With the cause of Sinéad O'Connor's death now revealed, her fans worldwide have a clearer understanding of the circumstances surrounding her untimely passing. Her powerful voice and impactful music continue to leave a lasting legacy in the music industry.
