Shakira has unexpectedly canceled her performance at tonight's WorldPride Welcome Concert, just days after her scheduled show at Boston's Fenway Park was called off.

The sudden cancellation has been attributed to complications arising from the Boston show. According to a statement, these issues have hindered the timely transport of the tour’s full production to Washington, D.C., making it impossible for the singer to perform at Nationals Park as planned.

Earlier in the week, Shakira had excitedly teased her Fenway Park audience with special guest appearances from Wyclef Jean and Will.i.am, suggesting that everything was going smoothly for the 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran' tour stop. However, a last-minute announcement by Live Nation informed fans that the show would no longer proceed, with local outlet 7News hinting that the decision was made following a venue inspection.

The Nationals Park social media accounts later confirmed that due to the unresolved issues from the Boston show, Shakira’s concert in Washington, D.C. had to be canceled despite all efforts to move forward.

This development marks another roadblock in what has been a particularly challenging tour for Shakira. Earlier this year, her show in Medellín, Colombia had to be postponed over stage safety concerns, and a performance in Lima, Peru was rescheduled after she was hospitalized. Additionally, the singer made headlines recently due to a viral video of her falling onstage.

The 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran' tour, supporting Shakira's latest album of the same name, is her first in seven years. The album has received critical acclaim, including a four-star review from NME's Lucas Villa who praised Shakira for continuing to innovate in Latin pop music and for her decision to sing entirely in Spanish, showcasing her artistic depth.
