### Dak Prescott Likely Out for Season Due to Pending Hamstring Surgery
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is facing the strong possibility of missing the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury that will most likely require surgery. Prescott is set to consult one more specialist before making a final decision, but reports indicate that surgery is the most probable course of action.
The 31-year-old quarterback sustained the injury during the Cowboys' loss to the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday. Following the injury, the Cowboys announced plans to place Prescott on injured reserve this week. ESPN's Adam Schefter has reported that Prescott plans on traveling to New York for a final opinion from a specialist before committing to the surgery, which would sideline him for a minimum of four months.
Before his injury, Prescott had an impressive performance in the first eight games of the season, amassing 1,978 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. However, his absence could be a major setback for the Dallas Cowboys, who are currently 3-5 and rank third in the NFC East.
The Cowboys have been plagued by injury issues this season. In addition to Prescott, cornerback DaRon Bland is out with a foot injury, while players such as edge rusher Micah Parsons and cornerback Trevon Diggs are questionable for this week's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. On a slightly brighter note, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who injured his shoulder in last week’s game, is expected to return and play through the injury.
With the mounting injuries, the Cowboys will need to rely on their depth and resilience to tackle the remainder of the season without their star quarterback.
