In a series of roster moves, the Seattle Seahawks have announced the waiving of wide receiver Jalen Coker and the promotion of linebacker Rhattigan to their active roster. The decision comes in a bid to make room and fine-tune the team ahead of the upcoming season.

Rhattigan, 25, initially joined the Seahawks in 2021 after going undrafted from Army. Although he was waived following the preseason, he signed with the practice squad and eventually earned a promotion to the active roster early in the regular season. Demonstrating his potential, Rhattigan went on to showcase his skills in all 17 games for the Seahawks in 2023, recording a total of 17 tackles.

Impressed by his performance, the Seahawks re-signed Rhattigan as an exclusive rights free agent in both 2022 and 2023. Though he was waived during the preseason, the team quickly re-signed the talented linebacker to the practice squad, only to promote him again to the active roster later on.

Looking towards the 2024 season, Rhattigan inked a new deal with the Seahawks as a restricted free agent, highlighting the team's confidence in his abilities. With his versatility and determination, Rhattigan is poised to make a significant impact on the Seahawks' defense this season.

In waiving wide receiver Jalen Coker, the Seahawks have taken additional steps towards optimizing their roster. While specific reasons for his release were not provided, the team's front office has likely assessed the depth and performance of its receiving corps in making this decision.

As the new season draws near, the Seahawks are focused on fine-tuning their roster, making strategic moves to assemble a cohesive and formidable team. With the promotion of Rhattigan and the subsequent waiving of Coker, the team continues to prioritize the development and optimization of its roster for the challenges that lie ahead.
