Samsung Poised to Hold Prices Steady for Upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 Models

Historically, it hasn't always been clear whether Samsung—or any other original equipment manufacturer (OEM)—will raise the cost of their devices with each new generation. This time, however, the company appears to be maintaining price stability.
Despite expectations to the contrary, the Galaxy S25 series was introduced at roughly the same prices as the S24 series. Similarly, a recent post from Twitter/X user @PandaFlashPro indicates that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are likely to be priced similarly to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 in most regions. However, the post does mention that a "few" countries might see price increases, highlighting that price changes are a potential consideration.
One factor that could influence these plans is the possible implementation of tariffs. A past announcement from President Trump proposed a 25% tariff on Samsung devices manufactured abroad and sold in the US, which could ultimately lead to a significant price jump of approximately 30-40%. Although these tariffs are not confirmed to be in effect, they remain a potential threat that could lead Samsung to pass on the additional costs to consumers.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are anticipated to be launched in the summer, aligning with rumors that suggest an announcement will be made in July. If tariffs remain a non-issue, Samsung is reportedly poised to keep the pricing for its next-generation foldables in line with the previous models. However, should tariffs be imposed, the cost for US consumers could notably rise.
While it is still uncertain if these tariffs will come into play, Samsung's current approach seems focused on maintaining the affordability of its new foldable smartphones, barring any last-minute changes.
