**SpaceX Successfully Launches SXM-10 Satellite to Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit**
SpaceX's Falcon 9 successfully transported the SXM-10 satellite to geosynchronous transfer orbit on Saturday, achieving the mission's scheduled deployment approximately 33 minutes post-launch. This milestone marks a significant addition to SiriusXM’s expanding satellite radio constellation.
The SXM-10 satellite, manufactured by Maxar Technologies, weighs 14,100 pounds (6,400 kilograms) and is set to enhance SiriusXM’s broadcasting capabilities once it maneuvers into its designated orbit. This recent launch follows closely behind another SpaceX mission for SiriusXM, with the SXM-9 satellite having been launched by a Falcon 9 in December 2024.
With this latest mission, SpaceX has accomplished 69 Falcon 9 launches within 2025 alone, underscoring the company's prolific activity in space exploration this year. Notably, 51 of these missions have focused on expanding SpaceX's own Starlink broadband megaconstellation in low Earth orbit, reflecting its commitment to global satellite internet service.
The success of SXM-10’s deployment continues to showcase SpaceX’s consistent performance and its crucial role in supporting both its commercial clients and its proprietary projects.
