Sabotage Studio, the developer behind the critically acclaimed turn-based RPG Sea of Stars, has recently teased a new couch co-op mode for the game. The announcement comes as the title achieves a significant milestone, surpassing five million total players.

The studio released a teaser video on YouTube, providing a glimpse of the new mode called "Single-Player+". The eight-second footage showcases three player characters, Valere, Zale, and Garl, seamlessly exploring the game's vibrant world together. Notably, the video reveals that players will have the freedom to grab items while their friends continue their journey.

In the footage, Valere is seen straying too far away from her companions, only to be swiftly pulled back to them via bubble transportation. Sabotage Studio offers a brief description in the video's description, indicating that Single-Player+ will maintain the original turn-based experience while introducing a new mechanic called "co-op timed hits." However, the studio has not provided a specific release date for the mode, stating that more details will be unveiled soon.

Sea of Stars, known for its colorful twist on classic turn-based RPG adventures, was initially launched in August 2023 for various platforms, including PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S. To commemorate reaching five million players, Sabotage Studio shared a special dance video and a heartfelt message online, expressing their gratitude for the overwhelming support.

Looking ahead, Sabotage has confirmed that physical editions of Sea of Stars will be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles on May 10. This news provides an opportunity for fans to own a tangible copy of the game, adding to the overall excitement surrounding its success.
