In a shocking revelation, UK-based investigative organization, the Dossier Center, has obtained Russian intelligence documents indicating that the Kremlin's security services were aware of an ISIS threat just days before a deadly attack on a concert hall near Moscow. The attack, which took place at Crocus City Hall, resulted in the deaths of at least 143 people, making it the deadliest attack on Russian soil in decades.

According to the documents, ethnic Tajiks radicalized by ISIS-K, the Central Asian offshoot of the terror group ISIS, could have been involved in the attack. The Dossier Center, known for unearthing details about the Russian government, obtained these documents and revealed that members of the Security Council had received a warning of possible terrorist attacks by Tajik citizens on Russian territory.

The report stated that even before the attack at Crocus City Hall, a source close to the intelligence services had informed the Dossier Center about the potential threat. These findings shed light on the alarming incompetence or negligence of the Russian security agency in handling the information.

The Kremlin has not yet responded to requests for comment on the Dossier Center's report. However, evidence presented by the organization indicates that the Russian government was not only aware of the threat but also failed to take appropriate action to prevent the attack.

Footage from the attack shows victims fleeing in terror and seeking safety as the concert hall was engulfed in flames. Four suspects, hailing from Tajikistan and working in Russia on temporary or expired visas, have been brought to court and face terror charges. Three of them have pleaded guilty, according to Russian media.

Interestingly, despite tense relations between the United States and Russia, the US had warned its Russian counterparts about the possibility of an ISIS attack in the country. In March, the US Embassy shared information with Russian authorities regarding the increased threat of terror attacks on Russian soil. Russian President Vladimir Putin had dismissed these warnings as "provocative" just days before the attack, accusing the US of attempting to destabilize Russian society.

The evidence uncovered by the Dossier Center raises serious questions about the Russian leadership and its security forces. Former Russian lawmaker and Kremlin critic, Ilya Ponomarev, expressed concern over Putin's lack of action despite repeated warnings. Meanwhile, Putin has baselessly suggested that Ukraine orchestrated the attack, a claim vehemently denied by Ukraine.

The Dossier Center also highlighted previous incidents involving ISIS-K members from Tajikistan, including attacks on the Russian embassy in Kabul in 2022 and a plot to attack Cologne Cathedral in Germany. These reports were monitored by Russian law enforcement, indicating that the risks were indeed considered by authorities.

As the investigation progresses, the implications of the Dossier Center's findings pose serious challenges for the Russian government and its ability to address future security threats effectively. The failure to act upon credible warnings raises concerns about the country's preparedness and the safety of its citizens.
