**Russell Wilson Eyes Return as Full Participant in Steelers Practice**
PITTSBURGH -- In a development that could shake up the Pittsburgh Steelers' lineup, quarterback Russell Wilson is set to participate fully in Wednesday's practice for the first time since aggravating his calf injury on September 5th. Coach Mike Tomlin mentioned that Wilson’s participation opens the possibility for him to be active for the upcoming game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
"The fact that he's a full participant is a door that's ajar," Tomlin commented. "But to say any more than that is to speculate, because he's got to get through the day, he's got to show up on Thursday and see where the roads lead us."
Wilson, 35, will be working with the second team offense, allowing Justin Fields to continue his first-team practice sessions. "We're in a little bit different place as I stand here today with Russ this week than we have been in recent weeks," Tomlin stated in his Tuesday news conference. "Tomorrow will be the first Wednesday that he'll be a scheduled full participant. We'll see what that leads us first."
Tomlin emphasized the significance of Wilson's ability to safeguard himself and the quality of his performance, underlining the shift from hypothetical discussions to actionable steps now that Wilson is healthier. "He's at the point of health now where we can work on a Wednesday without restrictions, so we'll do so."
Tomlin assured that Wilson’s reps with the second unit are aimed at maintaining the integrity of Justin Fields' preparation for the weekend. "He'll get reps with the second unit as to not disrupt Justin's preparation, and then we'll see where all of that leads us as we push through the week."
Wilson has been inactive during the first five games of the season, serving as an emergency third quarterback. However, during the last game, he was seen warming up and throwing on the sideline when Fields temporarily left the game due to an injury check, prompting backup Kyle Allen to step in for two plays.
