ICARO Media Group
Riot Games has officially unveiled the name for its highly anticipated League of Legends fighting game, now known as 2XKO. The title alludes to the game's 2v2, tag-team gameplay and replaces its previous codename "Project L." Set to launch in 2025, 2XKO will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S platforms.
The development team behind 2XKO is actively engaging with the fighting game community through playtests and demo opportunities planned for 2024. Interested players can sign up on the official website for a chance to participate in at-home playtests, slated to commence before the end of the year. Additionally, fans can follow @Play2XKO on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook for updates.
The upcoming fighting game will be a free-to-play experience, with Riot Games emphasizing that it will be "respectful of both your time and your wallet." Set in the same universe as League of Legends, 2XKO will feature popular Champions from the franchise, including Ekko, Ahri, Darius, and Yasuo, among others.
The initial announcement of this project was made in 2019 under the working title Project L, and the game's development progress was revealed during EVO 2023. The team is gearing up for public exposure, starting with playtesting opportunities at EVO Japan in April. Riot Games aims to strengthen its relationship with the community as 2XKO heads towards its anticipated release date in 2025.
