**Trevor Lawrence's Future Uncertain Due to Shoulder Injury**
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence faces an uncertain immediate future following a shoulder injury sustained in last week's game. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Lawrence is unlikely to play in the upcoming Sunday match against the Minnesota Vikings. The injury has led Lawrence to explore various treatment options, including the possibility of surgery, though no operation is scheduled at this time.
Details on the nature of Lawrence's shoulder injury remain sparse. In Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles, Lawrence had a rocky performance, completing 16 out of 31 passes for 169 yards and throwing two interceptions. He did manage to score two touchdowns, but both came from rushing plays that did not significantly involve his throwing shoulder.
Head coach Doug Pederson addressed the media on Wednesday, noting that Lawrence was experiencing soreness and would be limited in practice sessions. Pederson provided no clear answer regarding Lawrence’s availability for the upcoming game against the Vikings.
In response to Lawrence's injury, the Jaguars have re-signed backup quarterback C.J. Beathard to bolster their roster. Beathard, who previously served as Lawrence’s backup for three seasons, did not return to the team in 2024 when the Jaguars chose former New England Patriots QB Mac Jones. Now, Beathard is back with the team to offer additional "insurance" behind Jones, according to Pederson.
