### Lions Look to Josh Myers as Potential Replacement for Frank Ragnow
The Detroit Lions are now facing a significant challenge following the retirement of their four-time Pro Bowl center, Frank Ragnow. While a player like Ragnow cannot be easily replaced, the Lions are in search of viable options to fill the void.
Recently, the Lions signed Trystan Colon, a center/guard who spent last season with the Arizona Cardinals but did not take any snaps at center. Colon offers valuable interior line depth, but the Lions seem to be eyeing another prominent candidate to take the center position more permanently.
According to Wendell Ferreira from AtoZ Sports, the Lions could consider trading for Josh Myers, a former Green Bay Packers starting center currently with the New York Jets. Myers signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the Jets in March, including $1.5 million in incentives, with a likely cap hit of $3 million in 2025.
Josh Myers, familiar with the NFC North, could be an appealing option for Detroit. Despite falling short of expectations after being selected in the second round of the 2021 draft, Myers has been a reliable and durable presence, playing nearly every offensive snap for Green Bay over the past three years.
A trade for Myers could be facilitated due to the current circumstances at the Jets. With Joe Tippmann positioned as the starting center, Myers might not get the starting role and could be viewed as a tradeable asset. Additionally, the Detroit Lions' former defensive coordinator, Aaron Glenn, is now the head coach of the Jets, potentially smoothing the path for a trade.
Mike Payton of AtoZ Sports suggests that the Lions might only need to offer a 2026 seventh-round pick to acquire Myers. Given the current situation and immediate needs, the Lions are poised to monitor Myers' status closely and could seize the opportunity for a trade to shore up their offensive line.
