**Lions' Anzalone and Ragnow Absent from Offseason Workouts Amid Contract Issues**

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell revealed Friday that the team is missing two key players from their offseason workout program. While Campbell chose not to name the absent players, it seems clear that Alex Anzalone and Frank Ragnow are the ones not present at the training facility. Both players have been in communication with the team throughout this period.

The absence of Anzalone, who is entering the final year of his contract, and Ragnow, who has two years left on his, appears to be contract-related. Specifically, Ragnow’s situation has garnered significant attention. Despite signing a lucrative contract extension in 2021 that made him the highest-paid center in the NFL, Frank Ragnow is reportedly unhappy with his current deal. Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press highlighted that Ragnow, who is set to earn $9.15 million in base salary in 2025, feels undervalued given the market shift.

Ragnow's contract, which was once the most lucrative for a center, now ranks fourth in average annual value, and lacks guaranteed money in its final two years. Nonetheless, Ragnow’s performance remains elite. In 2024, he was Pro Football Focus' highest-graded run-blocking center, earning an impressive 90.9 grade.

The Lions concluded their first session of Organized Team Activities on Friday and are preparing for a second session from June 4-6. These sessions are crucial as they lead up to their training camp, scheduled to begin in July.
