### Steelers Legends Greenwood and Russell Still in the Running for Hall of Fame
Two standout names in the history of the Pittsburgh Steelers, L.C. Greenwood and Andy Russell, remain in the hunt for a prestigious spot in the NFL's Hall of Fame. Despite not yet being enshrined in Canton, their remarkable contributions to the sport keep them in contention.
Back in September, the NFL revealed a list of 183 "senior" nominees for the 2025 Hall of Fame class. Among those were six former Steelers: defensive lineman L.C. Greenwood, kicker Norm Johnson, defensive lineman Eugene "Big Daddy" Lipscomb, linebacker Andy Russell, defensive back Mike Wagner, and running back Byron "Whizzer" White.
The competition has since intensified, with the list being trimmed down to 60 candidates. Notably, Greenwood and Russell have successfully made it through this initial cut, keeping their Hall of Fame dreams alive.
As the process moves forward, the pool of candidates will be further reduced over the coming weeks. Ultimately, three finalists will earn a coveted spot on the ballot, with an opportunity to be inducted into the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame class.
The final selections for the class of 2025 will be announced in the near future. Following the announcement, the enshrinement ceremony will take place in Canton in August. Fans of the Steelers and football historians alike await this moment, hoping to see Greenwood and Russell receive the honor they have long deserved.
