### Steelers Bolster Ground Game with Addition of Mike Williams

The Pittsburgh Steelers are making strides toward strengthening their running game, a move that aligns with the team's historical identity. This shift is partly fueled by the dual threat of quarterback Russell Wilson, whose passing capabilities open up more opportunities for the rushing attack. Recently, the Steelers introduced a new element to their ground game arsenal: wide receiver Mike Williams.

"Mike's a big receiver. He's made a lot of 50/50 catches," said offensive coordinator Arthur Smith during a media session on Thursday. "Big presence in the run game. We'll see where it goes. Hopefully, he's value added." Williams is known for his physicality and has already amassed 1,504 run-blocking snaps over his 10-year career, according to Pro Football Focus premium stats. Though not primarily a runner, Williams has demonstrated his versatility with a notable season in 2018, where he managed seven carries for 28 yards and a touchdown.

Williams joined the Steelers' practice for the first time on Wednesday and expressed optimism about his role. "I had a pretty good day today; I've been in quite a bit. I was moving around everywhere," he remarked. "I'm trying to learn as much as possible. You never know what can happen, people move, things change. So, I'm just learning all the positions. I got some reps with Russ, also. So, keep building the rest of the week and see where we are on Sunday."

With Williams' addition, the Steelers hope to further solidify their run-heavy strategy, taking advantage of his run-blocking expertise and his ability to make contested catches. Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how this new dynamic unfolds as the Steelers continue their season.
