In a move to strengthen their roster, the New England Patriots have announced the signing of six players to their practice squad. The new additions include defensive end Brevin Allen, offensive guards Jerome Carvin and Michael Jordan, defensive tackle Trysten Hill, offensive lineman Bryan Hudson, and wide receiver Jalen Reagor.
Trysten Hill, Michael Jordan, and Jalen Reagor were already part of the Patriots' team but were released yesterday. However, the team decided to bring them back on the practice squad to provide depth and competition in training sessions.
Brevin Allen, only 23, brings a promising talent to the team. He initially joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 265 pounds, Allen made his NFL debut with the Chargers in September 2023 against Miami. After being released by the Chargers and having a brief stint with the Green Bay Packers, Allen now has another opportunity to showcase his skills with the Patriots.
Jerome Carvin, also 23, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2023. The 6-foot-3, 308-pound offensive guard was later picked up by the Chicago Bears' practice squad. His release from the Bears opened the door for the Patriots to secure his services.
Bryan Hudson, a 23-year-old offensive lineman, had previously signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent from Louisville in 2024. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 301 pounds, Hudson showcased his versatility by playing center, guard, and tackle during his college career. However, he was released by the Lions, providing the Patriots an opportunity to bring him in.
With these new signings, the Patriots hope to bolster their practice squad with a mix of promising young talents and experienced players. The practice squad serves as an important platform for the team to develop players, provide them with valuable experience, and potentially promote them to the active roster when the need arises.
These six new additions to the practice squad will join the Patriots in their training sessions as they prepare for the upcoming season. The team believes that their depth and competition within the practice squad will contribute to their overall success on the field.
It remains to be seen how these signings will impact the Patriots' roster moving forward, but one thing is certain - the Patriots are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for success.
