**Parsons Pledges Attendance at Cowboys Mini-Camp Amid Contract Negotiations**
The ongoing contract discussions between Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys bring a mix of optimism and uncertainty for fans. Although a lucrative new deal has yet to be finalized, Parsons reassured supporters that he will be present at next week's mandatory mini-camp. “I will be there!” Parsons announced on X, affirming his commitment to team preparations despite the unresolved extension.
Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer echoed Parsons' sentiment earlier on Tuesday. Confident in the player's attendance, Schottenheimer stated, “I would assume,” adding that he and Parsons have maintained open and positive communication. Schottenheimer noted that Parsons has been traveling but remains engaged, saying that he expects to see the star athlete at the mini-camp scheduled for June 10-12.
Parsons, who has been intermittently participating in the team’s voluntary OTAs, is entering the fifth and final year of his rookie contract. He is slated to earn a fully guaranteed $24 million in 2025. A new deal, if agreed upon, could potentially surpass Myles Garrett's four-year, $160 million contract, setting a new record for defensive players in the NFL.
In his four seasons with the Cowboys, Parsons' remarkable performance includes achieving 52.5 sacks and 63 tackles for loss, with an impressive tally of 12 sacks and 12 TFL in just 13 games last season alone. Parsons has expressed his readiness to make an impact, emphasizing, “I’m preparing as if I will be on the field the first week of camp! But it’s in the owner’s hands. I’m ready to win a Super Bowl!”
All eyes are now on Cowboys owner Jerry Jones as fans eagerly await a resolution to Parsons' contract situation, hopeful that it will align with the player’s aspirations and contributions to the team.
