### Recall Alert: Organic Carrots Pulled Due to Possible E. Coli Contamination

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — A potential E. coli contamination has prompted a recall of several organic carrot brands. The alert was issued by the FDA on Saturday, highlighting concerns regarding carrots grown by Grimmway Farms.

According to the FDA's statement, though affected products have been removed from store shelves, there is a possibility that some contaminated carrots may still be in consumers' refrigerators or freezers. This recall follows a CDC report linking these carrots to an E. coli outbreak that has resulted in one fatality and left 39 people ill.

The recall specifically targets baby carrots with best-if-used-by dates between September 11 and November 12. Additionally, whole organic carrots without best-by labels may also be contaminated; these could have been purchased from August 14 through October 23.

Consumers who have these products are urged to dispose of them immediately to avoid any health risks. Further details on specific brands affected by the recall were not disclosed in the initial announcement.
