**Oregon Rises to No. 1 in Latest US LBM Coaches Poll**

In a surprising yet well-earned development, Oregon has taken the No. 1 spot in the US LBM Coaches Poll following an impressive victory over Purdue. This marks the Ducks' first time at the top since November 11, 2012. Oregon secured 51 out of 53 first-place votes after their dominant Friday night win, highlighting their commanding position this season.

Despite conceding a few first-place votes to Georgia, which now sits at No. 2, the Ducks' ascent was hardly contested. Georgia's own notable victory against the erstwhile No. 1, Texas, contributed to this shift. Consequently, Texas has slid down five places to No. 6. Meanwhile, Penn State holds steady at No. 3, maintaining their position thanks to an unbeaten record, even with a week off. Ohio State also remains at No. 4, having enjoyed an open date this past weekend.

The No. 5 spot saw some excitement as Miami narrowly edged out Texas, placing them just above the Longhorns by five poll points. Climbing one spot, LSU now occupies No. 7, followed by Tennessee, Clemson, and Iowa State. The Volunteers made a noteworthy jump, moving up two positions after their significant win over Alabama.

Notre Dame stays firm at No. 11, and Brigham Young climbs to No. 12. Indiana had a significant boost, rising five places to No. 13 following a decisive win against previous No. 25 Nebraska. Texas A&M takes the No. 14 spot, followed by Alabama.

The poll also welcomes Navy at No. 24, marking its first presence since the final poll of the 2019 season. This is a historic moment, as it is the first time both Navy and their academy rival Army, now at No. 23, have simultaneously featured in the top 25 since the poll's administration by USA TODAY. Additionally, Vanderbilt joins the ranks at No. 25, making its first appearance since the final poll of the 2013 season. Nebraska and Michigan have departed from the latest rankings.
