OnePlus Introduces Watch 2 Featuring Dual OS and Impressive Battery Life

OnePlus has officially launched the Watch 2, a smartwatch powered by Wear OS with a unique twist of a secondary operating system designed to enhance battery performance. The Watch 2 boasts up to 100 hours of battery life, made possible by its dual operating system setup. While Wear OS manages apps and watchfaces, a secondary chipset running RTOS takes care of lightweight tasks, allowing the watch to seamlessly switch between the two operating systems.
The Wear OS is powered by the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1, while the RTOS is handled by the BES 2700 Efficiency chipset. The watch is equipped with a 500 mAh battery that supports 7.5W charging using a special magnetic charger, providing a full charge in 60 minutes or less. The display features a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen protected by a slightly curved sapphire glass, set in a stainless steel chassis available in black or silver colors with black or green bands.
Additional specifications include 32GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, and compatibility with the "OHealth" app for health tracking data. With over 100 tracking modes for various sports and connectivity to Android's Health Connect, users can seamlessly sync data with other health apps.
The OnePlus Watch 2 is priced at $299, with orders now open for purchase on OnePlus.com and Amazon. To make the deal even more enticing, OnePlus offers a trade-in option where customers can get $50 off by trading in any watch, even non-smartwatches.
