Among the standout teams in terms of selections were the second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes, who had a total of six players named to the first and second teams.

Leading the charge for Ohio State was safety Caleb Downs, a high-profile transfer from Alabama. Downs, who earned second-team All-American honors as a freshman last season, continued to impress and secured a spot on the first team. He was joined by guard Donovan Jackson, receiver Emeka Egbuka, and cornerback Denzel Burke, giving Ohio State the most first-team selections of any team.

Not far behind were the defending national champion Michigan Wolverines and top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs, with both teams having three players named to the first team. Michigan's representatives included tight end Colston Loveland, defensive tackle Mason Graham, and cornerback Will Johnson. Meanwhile, Georgia's first-team selections featured quarterback Carson Beck, guard Tate Ratledge, and defensive back Malaki Starks, who was also an All-American last year.

Other teams with multiple first-team selections were the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the LSU Tigers, both earning two spots each. Notre Dame had defensive tackle Howard Cross III and safety Xavier Watts named to the first team, with Watts also being an All-American last season. LSU's first-team representatives were tackle Will Campbell and linebacker Harold Perkins Jr.

In terms of conference representation on the first team, the Big Ten led the way with eight players, followed by the Big 12 with three. The first-team lineup featured several standout players across different positions, showcasing the depth and talent across college football.

As the anticipation for the college football season continues to build, the selection of the preseason AP All-America team serves as a reminder of the exceptional talents ready to showcase their skills on the field.
