**Giants GM Joe Schoen Discusses Daniel Jones’s Future Amid Team Struggles**

The ongoing speculation about quarterback Daniel Jones's future with the New York Giants saw a new voice weigh in this week. While head coach Brian Daboll had been addressing questions for most of the season, General Manager Joe Schoen provided his insights on Tuesday about the team’s plans.

Earlier, Daboll had indicated that the Giants would be assessing their quarterback options during the current bye week, suggesting potential changes when they face Week 12. Backup quarterbacks Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito could be possibilities as the team seeks to address the lack of offensive production, a significant concern given the Giants' disappointing 2-8 record.

Complicating the decision is Jones's contract, which includes $23 million in injury guarantees for the next season. However, Schoen clarified that the financial aspects would not influence the team's decision-making process. “The decisions we make will be football decisions,” Schoen emphasized, indicating a commitment to prioritizing team performance over contractual obligations.

Schoen also highlighted that the team’s difficulties cannot be attributed to Jones alone. “It's everybody. Everybody's got a hand in this,” he remarked, noting that the blame for the current situation is shared across the organization's roster and staff.

The decision to extend Jones's contract two years ago has not panned out as hoped, adding another layer of complexity to the choices facing Schoen and the coaching staff. As they reflect on the pitfalls of this season, it’s clear that the Giants' leadership is aiming for a holistic evaluation to navigate their way forward.
