In an exciting development for Notre Dame football, the prestigious university has added another promising recruit to their already-loaded 2025 recruiting class. Jerome Bettis Jr., the son of Hall of Famer and former Fighting Irish running back Jerome Bettis, has officially committed to the program.

Jerome Bettis Sr., who played three successful seasons for Notre Dame in the 1990s before embarking on a Hall of Fame professional career, has undoubtedly left a strong legacy at the university. Now, his son, Jerome Bettis Jr., is following in his footsteps, ready to make his mark on the football field.

Hailing from Woodward Academy in Atlanta, Georgia, Bettis Jr. is a three-star wide receiver who stands at an impressive 6-feet-2 and weighs 190 pounds. Despite receiving multiple competitive offers from major college programs such as Texas A&M, NC State, and Arkansas, Bettis Jr. ultimately chose to commit to Notre Dame.

247Sports ranks Bettis Jr. as the No. 83 wide receiver in the Class of 2025 and the No. 671 overall player in the 247Sports Composite. He showcased his skills on both offense and defense for Woodward Academy, contributing to their pursuit of a state championship in the highly competitive state of Georgia.

When asked about his decision, Bettis Jr. explained his strong connection to Notre Dame, stating, "What made the school so special for me is the feeling I get when I'm there and the comfortability and sense of home that makes the place super special."

Bettis Jr.'s commitment further solidifies Notre Dame's top-ranked 2025 recruiting class. The Fighting Irish currently boast an impressive 18 commits, including four members from the Top247 rankings. Bettis Jr. joins the ranks as the third wide receiver to join the talented class.

Notre Dame fans will be thrilled to see the Bettis legacy continue at the university. Bettis Sr., during his time at Notre Dame, racked up an impressive 1,912 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns. His sophomore season, in particular, saw him set the Notre Dame record with 23 total touchdowns in a single season. After being selected in the first round of the 1993 NFL Draft, Bettis Sr. went on to have a storied career with the Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams and the Pittsburgh Steelers, accumulating over 13,000 rushing yards and even winning a Super Bowl.

In a testament to his dedication, Bettis Sr. returned to Notre Dame years later and completed his degree in business in May 2022. Now, with his son preparing to join the Fighting Irish, the Bettis family's ties to the program are stronger than ever.

As Notre Dame continues to build their exceptional recruiting class, fans eagerly anticipate the contributions of Jerome Bettis Jr. on the football field. With his talent and the esteemed legacy he carries, Bettis Jr. has the potential to make a lasting impact for the Fighting Irish in the years to come.
