### NFL Week 4 Injury Update: Star Players on the Mend
As the NFL season advances into Week 4, teams and fans alike are grappling with mounting injury woes that have sidelined several key players.
One of the most notable injuries involves Los Angeles Chargers quarterback, Justin Herbert, who sustained a high-ankle sprain during Sunday's 20-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite the injury, Herbert is expected to play through the pain against the Kansas City Chiefs. He had also attempted to stay in the game against the Steelers before being forced to leave.
Green Bay Packers' quarterback, Jordan Love, who has been out due to a knee injury, is set to make his return. Love is anticipated to play for the first time since Week 1, likely with a brace on his sprained left knee.
In a setback for the San Francisco 49ers, superstar running back Christian McCaffrey remains on injured reserve with Achilles tendonitis. He is expected to be out for at least six weeks. Running back Jordan Mason has taken on the role of primary rusher in McCaffrey's absence, averaging 4.8 yards per carry and racking up 324 yards and two touchdowns over the past three weeks.
Another player facing a lengthy recovery is Kansas City Chiefs running back Isaiah Pacheco, who is likely to miss at least six weeks due to a fractured fibula. With backup running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire also battling injuries, the Chiefs have brought in Kareem Hunt to their practice squad. Carson Steele is slated to be the primary back for their Week 4 matchup against the Chargers.
Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who suffered a concussion in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills, has been placed on injured reserve. He will be out until at least Week 8, missing several critical games in the interim.
Pittsburgh Steelers are also dealing with injury complications. Quarterback Zach Wilson has yet to make an appearance this season due to a calf injury. According to head coach Mike Tomlin, Wilson will enter Week 4 prep as a limited practice participant. The Steelers plan for Justin Fields to make his fourth consecutive start against the Indianapolis Colts.
Indianapolis Colts' Anthony Richardson was ruled out after injuring his hip during the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Steelers. Meanwhile, Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon suffered an ankle injury in Week 2’s loss to the Chicago Bears and has not been present at practice, missing Week 3 as he continues to recover.
As these players work towards their return, their teams must adapt and manage their absences, which could significantly impact the performance and outcome of upcoming games.
