New York Murder Suspect Arrested in Arizona, Linked to String of Violent Crimes

NEW YORK – Raad Almansoori, the suspect wanted in connection to the murder of Denisse Oleas-Arancibia at SoHo 54 Hotel, has been apprehended in Arizona. The 26-year-old is facing charges for two stabbings in Arizona, along with other violent assaults on women in different states.

Authorities found Oleas-Arancibia's body in a SoHo hotel room with a broken iron and plastic fragments embedded in her skull. Almansoori, who was arrested in connection to this murder, is said to have put on the victim's leggings and left behind bloody jeans at the crime scene.

During his custody in Arizona, Almansoori allegedly confessed to a series of assaults on women, including stabbings in Surprise and Phoenix, as well as a violent attack in Florida. Investigators suspect his involvement in unsolved crimes in Florida and Texas, where he has a history of prior arrests for offenses like kidnapping and sexual assault.

Almansoori arrived in New York City in late January and is believed to have visited an escort in upper Manhattan before traveling to Arizona. Police state that he attempted to steal a woman's car outside a Starbucks and stabbed her multiple times in one incident, and is also a suspect in a stabbing at a McDonald's.

The Manhattan district attorney's office is seeking Almansoori's extradition from Maricopa County, Arizona, though local authorities seem inclined to proceed with their cases first. The NYPD is collaborating with the FBI and urging anyone with information on Almansoori's criminal activities to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
