**Mets Revamp Roster Amid Injuries and Promotions**
The New York Mets are making several roster changes following the promotion of Ronny Mauricio, which also involves placing Mark Vientos on the 10-day injured list due to a right hamstring strain. The injury occurred during Monday's extra-innings victory over the Dodgers in Los Angeles. Vientos injured himself while running to first base after hitting a grounder in the 10th inning. He collapsed and later grabbed at his leg as he hobbled back to the dugout. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza remarked that the injury "didn't look good" after Vientos was examined by team trainers. Mauricio, set to wear No. 10, will fill Vientos' spot on the bench.
In related news, right-handed pitcher Max Kranick has been optioned back to Triple-A Syracuse following his appearance on Monday. Kranick, who gave up one run on one hit while striking out two in his inning of work against the Dodgers, holds a 3.51 ERA over 22 appearances this season. With no off days until next Monday, the Mets needed a fresh arm in the bullpen, prompting Kranick's move back to the minors.
Left-handed pitcher Brandon Waddell will take Kranick's place in the bullpen. Waddell returns after his previous outing against the White Sox last week, where he allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk over five innings. Despite not having his best performance, Waddell managed to give the bullpen some relief before the team's series with the Rockies, which the Mets ultimately swept. In his two games with the Mets this season, Waddell has posted a 3.86 ERA and struck out seven batters over 9.1 innings.
The Mets also updated their pitching roster by transferring right-hander Frankie Montas' rehab assignment to Triple-A. Montas is scheduled to start for the Syracuse Mets in Tuesday's game, marking another step in his recovery journey.
