### Patriots Seek Offensive Line Reinforcements Amid Early Season Struggles

The New England Patriots are actively seeking to bolster their offensive line following a rocky start to the season. According to reports from Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, the team is considering former Carolina Panthers offensive tackle J.D. DiRenzo as a potential addition.

DiRenzo, who stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs 315 pounds, was waived by Carolina last offseason due to an injury. Despite this setback, he recently attracted attention from the Pittsburgh Steelers, with whom he worked out last week. The 26-year-old lineman boasts versatility, having played both left and right tackle during his college career at Sacred Heart and Rutgers. His collegiate accolades include being named All-Northeast Conference in 2019 and earning the offensive MVP title at Rutgers in 2022.

Although DiRenzo did not participate in the NFL Scouting Combine, his performance at Rutgers' pro day showcased his athleticism. He clocked a 5.25-second 40-yard dash and a 7.25-second 3-cone drill, times that, according to The Knight Report, would have been leading figures at the Combine for offensive linemen.

The Patriots' issues on the offensive line were highlighted last Sunday when the team fielded Vederian Lowe and Demontry Jacobs at tackle, following the placement of rookie Caedan Wallace on injured reserve. Both Lowe and Jacobs delivered underwhelming performances, prompting head coach Jerod Mayo and his coaching staff to continue searching for the optimal lineup to safeguard their quarterback.
