MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx expressed his admiration and gratitude towards AEROSMITH after the iconic rock band announced their retirement from touring due to lead singer Steven Tyler's vocal injury. AEROSMITH made the announcement on August 2, almost one year after Tyler fractured his larynx during a September 2023 show.

Taking to social media, Nikki Sixx shared a heartfelt message, recounting his first encounter with AEROSMITH's music as a fifteen-year-old. Sixx reminisced about carrying their debut album everywhere, proclaiming it as the future of rock 'n' roll. He praised AEROSMITH's unmatched musicality, lyrics, and monster songs. Sixx also expressed his admiration for Tom Hamilton's bass work and the dynamic rhythm section with Joey Kramer on drums. He commended guitarists Joe Perry and Brad Whitford for their intricate guitar interplay, stating that the sound became a powerful force. Personally, Sixx credited Steven Tyler for helping him during his sobriety journey. He concluded his message by thanking AEROSMITH for everything they have contributed to American rock 'n' roll.

In a previous interview, Sixx had revealed that AEROSMITH played a crucial role in inspiring him to pursue a career in music. He compared the impact of AEROSMITH's first five albums to legendary bands like LED ZEPPELIN and BLACK SABBATH, highlighting their raw and energetic sound. According to Sixx, AEROSMITH's album "Rocks" holds a special place in his heart and he considers it one of the greatest albums of all time.

AEROSMITH's decision to retire from touring comes after Tyler's vocal injury prevented him from fully recovering. The band acknowledged Steven's dedication to regaining his voice with the help of medical professionals, but unfortunately, a complete recovery is not possible. The band expressed their gratitude to fans for their unwavering support throughout their five-decade-long career. They also mentioned their honor in being part of fans' lives and thanked them for making rock 'n' roll history with them.

AEROSMITH's "Peace Out" tour was abruptly halted after just three dates, with the final performance taking place in Elmont, New York, on September 9, 2023. The tour was originally planned to continue through February 2024. The band had rescheduled the tour with special guests THE BLACK CROWES, but due to the retirement announcement, all remaining tour dates will be refunded.

AEROSMITH, known for their hits like "Dream On" and "Walk This Way," released their last studio album, "Music From Another Dimension!," in 2012. As they bid farewell to the touring stage, their legacy as one of the greatest rock bands of all time remains intact, leaving behind a catalog of timeless music that will continue to inspire generations to come.
