Former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch has reached a plea deal in connection with his 2022 arrest for misdemeanor counts of DUI, failing to drive in a travel lane, and driving an unregistered vehicle in Las Vegas. Lynch agreed to undergo DUI classes, 200 hours of community service, a victim impact panel, an alcohol evaluation, and to pay a $1,140 fine.

The former player's attorney, Richard Schonfeld, stated in court that Lynch would submit to the DUI charge, with the understanding that the remaining charges would be dropped. Lynch's judgment is on hold pending the completion of the requirements, as confirmed by Las Vegas City Attorney Jeff Dorocak.

Back in August 2022, Lynch was found asleep and smelling of alcohol behind the wheel of a car near downtown Las Vegas. According to an arrest report, he was falling asleep while speaking to officers during a traffic stop. Lynch's sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 21, and if he fails to meet the requirements of the plea deal, he would face sentencing on the DUI charge.

Lynch's attorneys, Schonfeld and David Chesnoff, emphasized in a statement that no conviction has been made at this time. They highlighted that Lynch's agreement to fulfill the set requirements would result in the case being closed as a reckless driving traffic offense.
