In a recent turn of events, Margate City Mayor Michael Collins issued a formal apology to Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie Kelce after a viral video surfaced showing a woman yelling at Kylie. The incident occurred during Memorial Day weekend in Margate City, New Jersey.

Taking to Facebook on Wednesday, Mayor Collins expressed remorse on behalf of the City of Margate for the unpleasant experience the Kelces had while in town. As a father himself, the mayor empathized with the importance of a date night and offered to treat the couple to a redo date night with dinner on him.

The incident came to light when a short clip was shared by the popular Philly-based podcast, WTTW Podcast, on Instagram. The video showed a woman confronting Kylie Kelce while Jason Kelce watched. Unfortunately, the clip did not capture what led to the confrontation, lasting only a few seconds.

According to Hugh E. Dillon, the creator of the blog Philly ChitChat, the incident took place as Kylie and Jason were heading to the renowned restaurant, Steve & Cookie's, in Margate on Saturday night. Dillon revealed that the woman demanded a photo with Kylie, who politely explained that she was on a date with her husband. Disregarding her response, the woman persisted and began screaming at Kylie. Undeterred, Kylie and Jason decided to walk into the restaurant, where they were able to enjoy their evening.

Dillon took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share his thoughts on the incident. He commended Kylie for standing up for herself, stating, "The best part of the video is Jason is just standing back and letting Kylie do what she does best, which is shut this woman down." He applauded Kylie for delivering her statement and calmly entering the restaurant afterward.

As of now, neither Kylie Kelce nor Jason Kelce have publicly commented on the incident or Mayor Collins' apology.

This incident serves as a reminder that public figures, despite their fame, deserve privacy and respect in their personal lives. Mayor Collins' prompt apology reflects the City of Margate's commitment to creating a welcoming and respectful environment for all visitors.
