A tragic incident unfolded over the weekend in Warren, Ohio, as a 33-year-old mail carrier was fatally shot in his postal van in what the police believe was a targeted attack. The victim has been identified as Jonte Davis.
According to the Warren Police Department, the shooting took place on Saturday afternoon around 1:45 p.m. in the 600 Block of Olive Avenue NE. Davis was inside his U.S. postal van when he was wounded by a suspect in another vehicle.
Law enforcement officers swiftly responded to reports of shots fired and commenced an investigation. Within hours of the incident, they located a suspect vehicle parked in a driveway at a residence on Maryland Avenue NE. Subsequently, a search warrant was obtained for both the residence and the vehicle.
