CHAPPEL HILL, N.C. - In an intense matchup at the Chapel Hill regional, LSU baseball showcased their resilience as they rallied for a thrilling 4-3 win over Wofford on Friday. The Tigers' Steven Milam emerged as the hero of the game, delivering his second walk-off home run in three games.

LSU entered the NCAA tournament with confidence, having won 18 of their last 24 games. Their recent success carried them to the SEC tournament championship game on Sunday, where they unfortunately fell short against No. 1 Tennessee, losing 4-3 in the final.

Facing Wofford for the first time ever, LSU found themselves in a challenging position. Right-hander Christian Little, who suffered a lat injury during the SEC tournament championship game, was not available to pitch in the Chapel Hill regional, according to an LSU spokesperson.

The game started with both teams struggling to generate offense, as only one runner reached base in the first inning. Wofford broke the deadlock in the second inning, with Tyler Hare hitting a sacrifice fly to center field, driving in Daniel Jackson for a 1-0 lead. Andrew Mannelly extended Wofford's lead to 2-0 with a two-out RBI single.

LSU tried to mount a comeback but couldn't capitalize on opportunities in the third and fourth innings, leaving Wofford with a 2-0 advantage. LSU refused to back down, launching an impressive comeback in the bottom of the eighth inning. Michael Braswell crushed a solo home run over the scoreboard, narrowing the Terriers' lead to 3-2. Shortly after, Jared Jones hit another solo homer, tying the game at three and setting the stage for a thrilling finish.

In the ninth inning, left-hander Griffin Herring took the mound for LSU, delivering a scoreless inning. The momentum was on the side of the Tigers as they emerged victorious in dramatic fashion.
