Indie action RPG Last Epoch has made a remarkable debut on Steam following its official release, surpassing Path of Exile's all-time player count within the first week. Developed by Eleventh Hour Games, Last Epoch has garnered attention for offering a blend between Path of Exile's grind and Diablo IV's focus on monetization.

After being in early access for some time, Last Epoch was officially launched on February 21, quickly gaining traction among ARPG fans. Despite initial server issues due to high player demand, with over 150,000 concurrent players on day one, the game has now stabilized and achieved a significant milestone.

On February 25, just four days post-launch, Last Epoch exceeded Path of Exile's Steam player record by almost twenty-two thousand players. While this is a notable achievement given the game's rapid rise in popularity, it's essential to consider that Path of Exile has its own launcher, meaning some players are not accounted for in Steam's data.

Looking ahead, Last Epoch still aims to attract more players to surpass Path of Exile's total all-time player count, with Steam players estimated to represent about two-thirds of PoE's player base. The success of Last Epoch has sparked excitement among ARPG enthusiasts, with hopes that it signifies a promising era for the genre.

Fans are eagerly anticipating upcoming developments in the ARPG space, including the release of Last Epoch 1.0 and the Path of Exile 2 beta in June. Despite initial technical challenges, Last Epoch appears to have solidified its standing and is poised for continued growth in the competitive ARPG landscape.
