Destiny's Child alum Kelly Rowland has finally spoken up about her recent clash with a Cannes Film Festival staffer on the red carpet. The incident occurred during the premiere of Marcello Mio on May 21, where Rowland was seen engaging in a heated exchange with a woman in a black suit and a security earpiece.

In a recent interview with Associated Press on May 23, Rowland addressed the incident, saying, "The woman knows what happened. I know what happened. And I have a boundary, and I stand by those boundaries. And that is it." She also alleged discrimination, pointing out that there were other women on the red carpet who didn't face similar scolding or treatment.

Dressed in a stunning custom crimson gown by Anamika Khanna and adorned with a Messika necklace, Rowland stood her ground and refused to let the incident dampen her spirits. She returned to the Cannes red carpet a day later for the premiere of The Count of Monte-Cristo.

While the reason behind Rowland being ushered off the red carpet remains unclear, the Cannes Film Festival has strict protocols in place, including a dress code for guests. According to the festival's website, Gala screenings require guests to wear a dinner jacket (tuxedo) with a bow tie or an evening dress. In the absence of these options, alternatives such as a cocktail dress, a dark trouser suit, or a black dress are acceptable.

Additionally, Cannes strictly prohibits taking selfies on the steps of the convention center and using cell phones inside the screening theaters. These rules aim to maintain a proper and respectful atmosphere.
