In a shocking incident that has sparked nationwide backlash, attendees at a Kansas county Republican Party event were seen punching, kicking, and using a baseball bat on an effigy of President Joe Biden. The event, called the "Road to Red," was held by the Johnson County Republican Party in suburban Overland Park near Kansas City.

Photos and videos from the event reveal that attendees were offered the opportunity to hit a martial arts dummy adorned with a rubber Biden mask and a "Let's Go Brandon" t-shirt in exchange for donations. The controversial "Let's Go Brandon" phrase has gained popularity as a veiled expression of dissent against President Biden.

Former Kansas GOP official Mike Kuckelman took to Facebook to denounce the event, calling it "shameful and wrong." Kuckelman, who succeeded Mike Brown as the Kansas GOP chair early last year, also called for the resignations of Brown and Maria Holiday, chair of the Johnson County Republican Party. He urged fellow Republicans to speak out against the incident, drawing attention to the swift condemnation received by Kathy Griffin when she engaged in similar conduct against former President Donald Trump.

Expressing his belief in the importance of treating political opponents with respect, Kuckelman emphasized, "I don't agree with President Biden's policies, but he is a fellow human being. No one should condone or defend this horrific and shameful conduct."

Calls for the resignations of party leaders have intensified, with Kuckelman urging elected Republicans to demand action. The event has drawn comparisons to the Kathy Griffin incident, fueling demands for equal outrage and consequences.

The Hill has reached out to both the Kansas Republican Party and the Johnson County Republican Party for comment on the matter but has not yet received a response.

This disturbing incident has reignited the debate over the growing political polarization in the United States. As the nation continues to grapple with deep divisions, many are now questioning the rhetoric and actions taken by individuals within political parties that perpetuate hostility and violence.

The fallout from this event serves as a reminder that while political differences may exist, it is essential to uphold civility and respect for one another. The incident has sparked a renewed call for unity and reflection within the Republican Party and further highlights the need for mutual respect and understanding in American politics.
