**Patrick Mahomes Expresses Regret Over Rashee Rice's Knee Injury**

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice sustained a knee injury following an unexpected collision with quarterback Patrick Mahomes during their Week 4 triumph over the Los Angeles Chargers. The incident occurred as Mahomes attempted to tackle an opponent after his own interception, leading to Rice's right knee awkwardly locking upon impact with Mahomes' shoulder.

During a Thursday press conference, Mahomes discussed his immediate reaction and concern for his teammate. "No, I didn't notice in the moment, I was more worried about trying to get the ball," Mahomes confessed. "But yeah, obviously, just trying to make a play. It happens when you're trying to make tackles."

Mahomes further admitted he felt a strong sense of guilt after reviewing the replay of the collision. "When I saw the replay, I felt like s**t that I hit Rashee," he said. "I mean, I wasn't really worried about myself. I was worried about, hopefully, his injury, and hopefully that it wasn't as bad as it looked because I was the one that hit him."

In a half-time interview, Chiefs coach Andy Reid provided an update on Rice's condition, describing the situation as "not good." With Rice ruled out for the upcoming Week 5, further testing is needed to determine the full extent of his injury. Despite initial hopes that Rice had avoided major damage, Reid advised a more cautious approach, stating that the team remains in a "wait-and-see" mode.

Efforts are currently underway to reduce the swelling in Rice's knee. In the interim, other offensive players such as Travis Kelce, Xavier Worthy, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Justin Watson, Sky Moore, and Mecole Hardman are expected to step up.

The Chiefs, holding a 4-0 record, are set to face the New Orleans Saints (2-2) on Monday Night Football in Week 5.
