Former NFL coach and Monday Night Football analyst Jon Gruden visited the Baltimore Ravens' practices on Thursday and Friday, accepting an invitation from Head Coach John Harbaugh. Harbaugh sought Gruden's insights on the team, capitalizing on Gruden’s expertise and their long-standing relationship. Several Ravens offensive coaches had previously visited Gruden in Florida last year, fostering a collaborative bond between the two football minds.

"Jon is a football fanatic, with an impressive understanding of the game," Harbaugh commented. "He studied our team meticulously and provided detailed insights on players, coaching strategies, and schemes. We didn't hand him our playbook or a script, but he knew exactly how to analyze and critique our methods from an opponent's perspective."

Gruden wasn't hesitant in addressing the team with critiques and suggestions. "He directly told players where they could improve, which is invaluable," Harbaugh said. "Every player wants to know where they can get better, and Jon did just that with utmost respect and precision."

In other news, Aaron Rodgers has agreed to join the Pittsburgh Steelers, marking a significant shift in the Ravens-Steelers rivalry. The Steelers announced on Friday that Rodgers has signed a one-year contract, pending a physical. The Ravens will face the Steelers twice in the upcoming season, first hosting them in Week 14 and then visiting Pittsburgh to conclude the regular season.

"I respect the Steelers and Aaron Rodgers tremendously," Harbaugh stated. "Rodgers is a Hall of Fame quarterback, and this adds another layer to our rivalry with Pittsburgh. We'll prepare to face one of the best."

Meanwhile, Keaton Mitchell, recovering from a serious knee injury in 2023, aims to be the Ravens' primary kick returner. Mitchell demonstrated impressive speed, clocking in at 22.4 miles per hour recently. "I'm definitely aiming to contribute as a primary kick returner," Mitchell said. "I want to be the guy teams fear to kick to."

Harbaugh also addressed attendance at the voluntary Organized Team Activities (OTAs), emphasizing overall team performance rather than mere participation. Though Lamar Jackson has attended only one of the sessions, Harbaugh remains unconcerned. "Lamar was exceptional the day he was here, in great shape and making all the right plays. Attendance at a voluntary camp isn’t my measure; their performance on the field is."

As the offseason progresses, Harbaugh and his team are focused on honing their skills and strategies for the challenges ahead. With valuable input from Gruden and anticipation for the enhanced competition with Rodgers joining the Steelers, the Ravens are gearing up for an eventful season.
