Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid has given an update on the status of their newly signed wide receiver, Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, who suffered an injury during their recent preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

According to Coach Reid, Brown underwent a successful procedure to dislocate his sternoclavicular joint without requiring surgery, which is considered a positive outcome. "They were able to get the joint back into place without surgery, which is a positive," said Reid during his press conference. "Now, we just need to see how the recovery goes back in Kansas City."

Brown sustained the injury during his first series with the starting offense, drawing comparisons to a similar injury experienced by Tyreek Hill while he was still with the Chiefs in 2019. The positive news of avoiding surgery brings relief to both the team and fans, as Coach Reid discussed plans for the immediate future without the veteran receiver.

"His experience and his presence in the league will be missed, but we have other players who can step up and perform well," Reid stated. "We are hopeful for his quick recovery, but we will evaluate him before we begin our regular season."

It is unlikely that Brown will return to action during the remaining preseason games. His availability for the start of the regular season, scheduled for September 5th, will be determined following further evaluation of his recovery progress.

The Kansas City Chiefs are set to face off against Brown's former team, the Baltimore Ravens, during their season opener, adding an extra layer of intrigue to his potential return.

Fans and teammates alike are eagerly awaiting updates on Brown's recovery, hoping for his swift return to the field.
