Jonathan Majors, known for his roles in Marvel productions, has been hit with a lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in New York federal court. Jabbari has accused Majors of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, malicious prosecution, and defamation.

The lawsuit stems from incidents dating between 2021 and 2023, including an altercation in March 2023 for which Majors was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault against Jabbari. In a "Good Morning America" interview following his conviction, Majors claimed to have "never laid [his] hands on a woman," leading to the defamation allegation.

Jabbari's lawsuit details a pattern of physical and emotional abuse, as well as controlling behavior, during their relationship. It alleges that Majors would threaten self-harm if she attempted to end their relationship. In one incident in Los Angeles in 2022, Majors is accused of shouting in Jabbari's face, grabbing her arms, and shoving her into a shower door. He then threw her body into a shower wall, causing her head to hit the wall. Fearful for her safety, Jabbari stated that she would inform Majors' team about his actions, which allegedly escalated the abuse further.

Another incident in 2022, this time in London, involved Majors allegedly pushing Jabbari forcefully against the hood of her car, placing her in a headlock, and stifling her cries for help. The lawsuit claims that Majors threatened to kill Jabbari and proceeded to hit her head against the marble floor while strangling her.

Text messages included in the lawsuit present Majors dissuading Jabbari from seeking medical help and making threats of self-harm. Although these texts were used in the trial related to the March 2023 altercation, they were allowed as background information and not as evidence.

Majors, who is set to be sentenced next month for his December 2023 conviction, has faced professional consequences as well. He was fired by Marvel from his role as Kang the Conqueror following his conviction and had his movie "Magazine Dreams" removed from Searchlight's release calendar. Despite these setbacks, Majors recently appeared at the NAACP Awards with his girlfriend, Meagan Good.

The outcome of the lawsuit filed by Jabbari against Jonathan Majors remains to be seen as the legal proceedings unfold.
