Inside Out 2 Continues to Soar, Sets Opening Records in New Overseas Markets

Pixar's highly anticipated sequel, Inside Out 2, is smashing records and captivating audiences as it dominates the international box office. Wednesday proved to be another triumphant day for the animated film, as it surpassed opening benchmarks in new overseas markets.
With a robust offshore day collection of $29 million, accounting for 22% of the weekend revenue, Inside Out 2 has now reached a staggering $203.3 million in 42 international markets. These impressive figures propelled its global box office earnings to a remarkable $438.7 million, putting the film in striking distance of the half-billion-dollar mark.
Yesterday marked the debut of Inside Out 2 in Italy, France, Spain, and Belgium, and the film quickly secured the number one spot in each of these markets. In Italy alone, the sequel garnered an outstanding $4.2 million on its opening day, setting a new record as the biggest opening day ever for an animated title. Remarkably, it also secured the seventh spot for the best opening day of any film (excluding local releases), and it became the biggest overall opening day post-Covid. Notably, Inside Out 2's debut in Italy surpassed the original Inside Out by an impressive 397%, outperformed The Super Mario Bros Movie by 136%, and surpassed Minions: The Rise of Gru by 91%.
France also witnessed a tremendous response to Inside Out 2, with the film achieving the third-best Pixar opening day of all time and the highest overall opening of the year. The film amassed $4 million on its first day, surpassing Inside Out by 171% and The Super Mario Bros Movie by 31%.
Spain proved to be another strong market for Inside Out 2, delivering the largest opening day ever for an animated title in the country. The film generated a remarkable $3.3 million on its debut, establishing a new post-Covid record.
Meanwhile, Belgium experienced a historic launch for Pixar, as Inside Out 2 became the biggest opening day ever for the studio with an impressive $700,000. It also secured the third-best opening day for any Disney or Pixar animated film in the country. The sequel's debut in Belgium surpassed its predecessor by 133% and exceeded Minions: The Rise of Gru by 34%.
As the success of Inside Out 2 continues to unfold, audiences in Brazil eagerly await its release today, while China prepares to embrace the film on Friday. Thus far, the top markets for the film include Mexico, with an astonishing $42.2 million, followed by the UK ($18.7 million), Korea ($17.6 million), Germany ($10.8 million), and Argentina ($9.4 million).
