**Yankees Salvage Final Game in Dodgers Series, Dominguez and Weaver Exit with Injuries**
The New York Yankees dodged a series sweep against the Los Angeles Dodgers over the weekend. After dropping the first two games on Friday and Saturday at Dodger Stadium, the Yankees emerged victorious in the final game on Sunday evening with a 7-3 win.
However, the Yankees' victory was tempered by injuries to key players. Left fielder Jasson Dominguez left the game early with what the team described as a left thumb contusion. Dominguez injured his thumb while attempting to steal second base during the fifth inning. Although he managed to stay on base and score a run, he was replaced by Cody Bellinger shortly after.
Manager Aaron Boone offered no specifics regarding Dominguez's condition, merely stating that an update was not yet available. Dominguez himself, however, expressed optimism, telling reporters that he is "not too concerned" about the thumb injury.
Another potential issue arose when Luke Weaver, who was set to pitch the ninth inning, reported discomfort in his hamstring. As a result, Tim Hill took the mound instead. Boone again provided limited information, only noting that Weaver "felt something" in his hamstring.
The Yankees are hoping that neither injury will necessitate a stint on the injured list for either player. The team has a day off on Monday before beginning a home series against the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday, June 3.
