### Hugo Weaving Returns to "Slow Horses" and Gives Updates on Exciting Projects
Veteran actor Hugo Weaving has confirmed his return to the acclaimed series "Slow Horses" for its fifth season. Weaving, known for his remarkable versatility, will reprise his role as Frank Harkness, heading back to London in January for a filming schedule spanning two and a half months. Speaking about the series at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, Weaving mentioned that while each season of "Slow Horses" traditionally aligns with a book, there are always slight deviations from the original stories. He also highlighted that the series is rapidly catching up to the number of books authored by Mick Herron.
In addition to his television commitments, Weaving offered an update on the highly anticipated sequel to the cult classic, "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert." Having already read five drafts of the script, Weaving disclosed that he had been in contact with the film's director, Stephan Elliott, earlier that morning. The project is cautiously moving forward with the potential of commencing next year but still requires finalization of numerous details.
Weaving’s visit to Goa also saw him presenting "The Rooster," an Australian thriller directed by Mark Leonard Winter. In this film, Weaving plays a hermit whose enigmatic past might provide critical clues regarding a body uncovered by a small-town law enforcer. The role was tailor-made for Weaving by Winter, who dreamed of working with the distinguished actor. “When I decided to write a script, I specifically wrote the role for Hugo because working with him was a dream come true,” Winter shared. He also noted that having Weaving attached to the project lent it significant credibility.
Reflecting on his decision to join "The Rooster," Weaving praised Winter’s character writing and the compelling nature of the film’s concept. The film was shot at Winter's residence in Victoria, Australia, which allowed for an intimate and focused production environment.
At IFFI, where Australia is the country of focus this year, both Weaving and Winter expressed their eagerness to collaborate with Indian filmmakers. Weaving hinted at ongoing talks with Indian filmmaker Anand Gandhi, while Winter revealed he has already completed a first draft of a vampire film for his next directorial venture.
As Weaving continues to captivate audiences with his diverse roles, fans eagerly look forward to both his return in "Slow Horses" and his future cinematic projects.
