**Texans Edge Out Jaguars Despite Penalty Trouble**

In a game riddled with errors, the Houston Texans managed to secure a 24-20 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, thanks in large part to quarterback C.J. Stroud's critical performance. Stroud's 1-yard touchdown pass to Dare Ogunbowale in the final moments helped Houston exhaust 2:36 of the remaining 2:54, clinching their third win of the season.

This victory was not without its challenges as the Texans accumulated 12 penalties for 93 yards, continuing their streak of at least 11 penalties per game for the third consecutive week. Offensive guard Kenyon Green had a notably tough outing with three penalties, including two for illegal actions downfield and one for holding. Special teams player Steven Sims also struggled, muffing a punt inside his own 10-yard line, which led to Jacksonville's first touchdown, and later incurred a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty.

Despite the errors, Houston outperformed the Jaguars in yardage, racking up 435 yards compared to Jacksonville's 313. Stroud completed 27 of 40 passes for 345 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Nico Collins was a significant contributor, catching 12 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown. Running back Cam Akers also made notable gains with 13 carries for 53 yards. Stefon Diggs added to the offensive effort, catching five passes for 69 yards and scoring a 6-yard rushing touchdown.

Jacksonville’s Trevor Lawrence completed 18 of 33 passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns. His key targets were Brian Thomas, who caught six passes for 86 yards and a touchdown, and Christian Kirk, who made seven catches for 61 yards and a touchdown.

As the Texans improve to 3-1 and the Jaguars remain winless at 0-4, both teams will look to address their shortcomings. Houston will aim to clean up their penalty issues, while Jacksonville will seek their first win of the season.
